Ror participants of the CARLI Regional ARL/ACRL Institute on Scholarly Communication, hosted by the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois, December 5-7, 2007, in Chicago. Participants at this immersive learning experience, who are encouraged to attend in teams, will become fluent with scholarly communication issues and trends and begin developing outreach plans for their campuses. To achieve this goal, participant teams conduct an environmental scan before the institute, engage in a series of active learning experiences during the event, and create elements for customized scholarly communication outreach program plans for implementation at their home institutions. The institute has hundreds of alumni forming a community that provides peer support and professional sharing of information relating to campus outreach.
